Admissions

The current intake number for Brabin’s Endowed Primary School is 15.

Brabin’s Endowed Primary School is a Voluntary Controlled Primary School for children aged between 4 and 11 years. Admissions are controlled and administered by Lancashire County Council, who can be contacted regarding any queries.
Children start school in the September following their fourth (4th) birthday.
Prospective parents are welcome to contact the school office to arrange a mutually convenient time to visit the school.

During the summer term, prior to a child starting school, he/she will be invited into the Reception class for a series of introductory/familiarisation sessions.

The pupils will begin their education on a full time basis in September.

Applying for a Primary School Place

The majority of parents/carers applying for places at Brabin’s Endowed access the on line facility.  Applications can be made via the link below.

http://www.lancashire.gov.uk/children-education-families/schools/apply-for-a-school-place/apply-for-a-primary-school-place.aspx

However, if there is a preference to complete a paper copy, please contact the local authority directly.

It is important that on-line applicants retain details of their login and password.

If Brabin’s Endowed is oversubscribed, then the following priorities apply – in the order stated:

1. Children who are looked after by a Local Authority at the time when preferences are expressed and who are still looked after at the time of their admission to school, and those who have been previously looked after; then

2. Children for whom the Local Authority accepts that there are exceptional medical social or welfare reasons which are directly relevant to the school concerned; then

3. Children with older brothers and sisters attending the school when the younger child will start; then

4. Remaining places are allocated according to where a child lives. Those living nearest to the preferred school by a straight line (radial) measure will have priority.
